Nina Roberts was born in 1985 in Ithaca, New York. In 1994 the family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for her father's teaching job at UWM. Nina went through the Shorewood school system, finishing high school at the end of her junior year.

In the time since high school, Nina has worked several jobs, sometimes working as many as four at a time! Some highlights include indexing the Corporate Express office supply catalogs for Quad Creative, a Milwaukee publishing company, and being the assistant manager of Hollywood Video for two years.

During her free time Nina has always enjoyed art and dancing, although her earlier years were spent in gymnastics. At age 12 Nina took up ballroom dancing at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Mequon, Wisconsin. After several dance competitions and solo performances at the Pabst Theater Nina has a large collection of gold awards lining her walls at home. Ballroom dancing, however, is not the only form of dance Nina enjoys. She has also tried her hand at jazz, tap, and belly dancing, even dancing in the Thiensville Parade and on stage at the Wisconsin State Fair.

With her grandfather being a fine art painter and textile designer, and her mother spending time on photography, it's not a surprise that Nina picked up the artist's pencil at a young age. The pencil is in fact Nina's most comfortable art tool, second only to her Minolta camera.
